‘Bandari ya Salama’ na Mnara wa Saa

Mnara wa Saa. Jijini Dar es Salaam. Tarehe 1 Juni 2008. Imbebaki miaka michache Jiji la Dar es Salaam litimize miaka 50 tangu litangazwa kuwa jiji. Je, wakaazi wa Dar es Salaam na viongozi wao wanajiandaa vipi kwa kumbukumbu hii muhimu? Je, kuna tafakari zipi zinaandaliwa kwa ajili ya kumbukumbu hizo? Je, ni kuongezeka tu kwa majengo? Kuvurugika kwa miundo mbinu? Kuharibika pasipo kukarabatiwa kwa taa za barabarani, mitaro ya maji machafu, majengo, nguzo za umeme zenye taa za kuangaza nyakati za usiku, bustani za maua, viwanja wazi kwa mapumziko na burudani????

Upangaji miji uko wapi? Watoto wanacheza wapi? Wafanya biashara ndogondogo wanafanya wapi biashara zao? Nani anawajibika kuzoa taka? Nani anawajibika kurekebisha miundo mbinu pale inapoharibika? Nani anadhibiti usalama wa raia na mali zao ili kweli jina la jiji hili liwe ‘Bandari ya Salama’? Ni wakati sasa tuwajibike kutafuta majibu kwa maswali haya na mengineyo mengi.
