Simba vs Yanga … who is who?

with 5 comments

It’s going to be a big battle as two arch-rivals in Tanzanian soccer, Simba Sports Club and Young African Sports Club (Yanga) face each other tomorrow, Saturday October 29, 2011, in their first leg of the Tanzanian Premier League. Who will emerge the winner? … Well, it’s only a matter of waiting a few hours away. As I write, it’s less than 16 hours away.

This whole week has been very tense for both sides, with Yanga finding themselves in a state of confusion as a ‘new’ coach, Kosta Papic, landed in Dar ready to coach the squad at the same time the contract of the current coach, Sam Timbe is still there … So, the team faces Simba at the time they don’t know exactly who their head coach is!

As the two rivals go to play, this is the fifth time they meet in this year. Yanga won against Simba to win the Kagame Cup, Simba won twice and there was a draw. Shall we judge by these records … shall we judge by the calmness at the respective clubs? Shall we judge and foretell results based on how each club is fairing in the Vodacom Premier league? It’s up to each one of us to choose what to expect in this grand match. Enjoy!

  3. Ohohoooo! Yanga wins 1 – 0 against Simba … Match just ended. So, with these results, in this year for games played so far, Yanga won two matches and so did Simba while the to arch rivals drew in one. Congrats Yanga …
