Crowd mixing … being with

It was beautiful.

My neighbour was going to wed his son. The wedding took place on Friday night at the bride’s home. This other event was held at the groom’s home on Saturday afternoon. It involved a number of prayers and sermon from a local Sheikh. It ended with a delicious meal of rice served with stew.

It is during such moments when we enjoy the value of ‘being with’, a value that is slowly disappearing from among African communities. May be it’s time we find ways of protecting it and ensuring that we don’t end up losing it. And as you can see, the people are beautiful and everything else is beautiful. I particularly like how people dressed: colourful and shining, head to toe. Enjoy.
