Welcome South Sudan … newest nation
This is to welcome the world’s newest nation of South Sudan. For sure two sides that don’t seem to get along well as one thing had better be separated. Most of all, each party has to respect the other party and decisions the other party makes. Failure to maintaining such level of respect may lead to serious consenquences. It is for this reason I’ve been wondering whether it is right to say that South Sudan is ‘free at last’. I personally think what happened was a separation because North Sudan was not the ‘colonizer’ of the South but rather the fact that the whole of Sudan was one country. Independence may at times not necessarily be synonymous to freedom.
While we welcome South Sudan as an independent country … we call upon our brethren in the country to tread into self autonomy with caution … because very soon new elements worth fighting against vigorously will start cropping up (they could have been there all along … but may not have come to the awareness of the majority) … and these include corruption, mismanagement, fraud, favouratism, abject poverty among the majority etc. Most important of all, unity, liberty and freedom must be cherished if poverty is to be fought against.
Welcome South Sudan… Karibuni Ndugu Zetu wa South Sudan … Africa, and especially, East Africa has opened her arms wide to receive you ready to join forces to advance the wellbeings of our people.
