African Child Day … new phenomenon?

Kipawa Libermann Nursery and Primary school …

On the day Kipawa Libermann Nursery and Primary school was inaugurated … June last year

African child …

And today … I visited Kipawa Libermann school …

Stunning figures … no? What do you see? There are more girl pupils compared to boy pupils? A new trend, isn’t it? Two decades ago, you would find more boys in any classroom in a school in Africa … why … it was then believed that education was for ‘men’ alone and the place of a ‘woman’ was in the kitchen … the belief is thinning out … and it is thinning out fast … very fast indeed … Just imagine … 107 girls against 77 boys! New phenomenon!
