ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE WORKSHOP FOR WRITERS OF ENGLISH NOVELS

The Canadian Organization for Development through Education (CODE) and the Children’s Book Project for Tanzania (CBP) have the pleasure to invite Tanzanian authors and those who aspire to write in English to take part in a workshop for writers.
The workshop will take place on the 16th – 18th May, 2011 at Akana Lodge, Dar es Salaam.
Topics to Be Covered are:
· Introducing practical writing and planning techniques relating to high interest – low vocabulary novels for young readers.
· Considering what makes stories for young readers interesting to read and write.
· Exploring characters and topics that could be interesting to young readers.
· Writing from a child or teenagers point of view.
· Story writing methods.
· Revision.
If you wish to participate in this workshop please submit your name with your contact details and a short story written in English not exceeding two pages, before 13th May, 2011 to Children’s Book Project for Tanzania offices or by E- mail cbpvitabu@yahoo.com or cbp@raha.com.
