Blogathon: Cyber fears … Trending

with 3 comments

I’m afraid … cyber will have my weak points exposed
I’m afraid … cyber will make me lose my identity
I’m afraid … cyber space will be filled up with unnecessary content …
I’m afraid … cyber space will keep marginalizing many people … in developing world
I’m afraid … cyber space will uproot our generations and render them cultureless
I’m afraid … … … … … …

  1. Hey Simba, I relate to and understand your fears. How will you empower yourself and your friends to overcome these fears? 🙂 Can education help? How about a government-led campaign to encourage citizens to learn net surfing? Let me know your thoughts!

  2. Hi Nilofar, thank you for your comment. Yes indeed, education, grass root mobilization, electrifying rural areas using solar power, documenting digitally people’s life practices and cultural activities for preservation of cultures … reducing costs of accessing the Internet … reducing costs of soft and hard ware so that they are within reach of the majority. Bridging digital divide using simple publications in printable formats … redirecting teaching curricula to include modern technological trends … in user friendly manners … and the process has to start with US … you and me …, Thanks.
