World women’s day … liberty, dignity and equal opportunity … coming
The world marks Women’s Day. The road ahead towards women’s full expression of personal liberty is still rough and long. However, it is women who underline continuity of life and form the basis of whatever development there may be, especially in developing world. This is in spite of the fact that often times they are the least beneficiaries of achievements that are there. True freedom and independence will be realised once women are eble to fully exploit the benefits of their sweat alongside all others and in dignified ways. This is to appeal to those who further the status of ‘male-dominated’ beneficiaries to stop and give a chance to the world women to not only be producers of world wealth but also to be beneficiaries of what they produce.
Let’s particularly remember to make suffering women smile even for a brief moment. Let this day be of meaning to women who live with HIV, those with physical and mental disabilities, those who toil from early in the morning to deep into the night, those who have had bad experiences of being maltreated in war zones or when seeking for a job or business opportunity. Let it be the day of recognizing the great contribution hese wonderful heroines, who in spite of all the hardships, they remain enduring, courageous, persisten and never giving up.
Hurray to all women of the world.
