Old Dar es Salaam …

Yes. These are some of the old structures still in existence in Dar es Salaam. Throw your mind back about a hundred years ago. Imagine the Dar es Salaam and how it was then. It must have been very quiet. A DC’s or governor’s vehicle would passby once in a while. Streets were mostly empty. In the evening they got emptier than during the day. Not so these days with vehicles teeming, unbearable taffic jams, thousands and thousands of people in the streets. In ten to twenty years to come, it is possible only a few of these old structues would still be standing erect. Several have already started giving way to new and modern structures. What a pity. New structures could find ground elsewhere. Tanzania is huge … new structures should go out there and expand the city./Hayo ni baadhi ya majengo ya Dar es Salaam ya zamani.
