Mpendazoe … salamu
News about an MP deflecting from one political party to another dominated today’s front pages. This MP is no other than Mpendazoe who has decided to shift from CCM (ruling party) to a newly temporarily registered party, CCJ.

I understand that one joins with a political party voluntarily. I also understand that one does so after having done a careful examination of the values and principles that particular party stands for. In other words, the values and principles of that particular party are in line with one’s own. It is for this reason I still fail to see how come today one is in this party and tomorrow he/she is in another party. This has been happening ever since multi-party democracy was re-introduced in the country.
I would think that one can work for positive changes in the lives of common people from any political party. Moving from one party to another does not guarantee that he will work better in the other party than in the former party. So, Bw Mpendazoe. I’m one of those people who do not think that you needed to move to another party in order to be ‘voice of the voiceless’. All in all, goodluck in your new party.
